    Family Background

    Church & Spiritual Background

As pastors and elders we hold highly the spiritual charge given in 1 Peter 1:1-5: So I exhort the elders among you, as a fellow elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, as well as a partaker in the glory that is going to be revealed: shepherd the flock of God that is among you, exercising oversight, not under compulsion, but willingly, as God would have you; not for shameful gain, but eagerly; not domineering over those in your charge, but being examples to the flock. And when the chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory.

“Shepherding the flock among you” certainly involves knowing how we can help care for, disciple and equip those in our congregation. The purpose of these personal questions is to help us to pastor and shepherd well.

    Covenant Affirmaton

Today, I willfully express my desire to join in partnership with other followers of Jesus in the Fellowship West church.

    • Having repented of my sins and trusted in the good news of the Gospel for salvation, and …
    • Having been/or committing by this covenant to be publicly baptized, and …
    • Having affirmed the Fellowship West Confession statement…

By the power and guidance of the Holy Spirit, I covenant with this fellowship of believers to:

    1) Faithfully engage in the process of Spiritual Formation by participating in the Fellowship West pathways: Transformational Teaching, Personal Practices of Discipleship, Gospel-formed Community, Gospel-fueled Ministry + Mission.
    2) Follow the Way of Jesus by committing to abide with Christ, walk in holiness, and love God and my neighbor as myself. This means I commit to participating in the Fellowship Church family as a brother/sister in Christ – seeking to honor and love my spiritual family in word and deed.
    3) I commit to participate in congregational care – recognizing the spiritual care and authority of the Elders and pastors – as undershepherds of the Lord Jesus Christ. The Elders and pastors covenant to lead in a humble, Christlike manners as described in 1 Peter 5:1-6. Together we covenant to pursue any matters of dispute with a humble and sincere commitment to reconciliation.

By God’s grace, may we walk in love, mercy, and grace for the glory of God and the good of our neighbors.
